Site Selection Magazine announced that in 2024 the Seneca, SC Micropolitan Area (which includes all of Oconee County) was ranked the 19th Best Micropolitan Area in the U.S. for economic development! The ranking is based on the number of announced projects for the year and is out of 538 Micropolitan Areas in the U.S. In 2003, we ranked 29th. This puts Oconee County in the top 4% of all Micropolitan Areas!
